Precision AutoWerk Ltd (formerly Bryce Sommerville Collision Repair Centre Ltd) is a leading New Zealand high quality autobody repair specialist; and has celebrated more than 40 years in the motor vehicle repair industry.
For the first thirty-five years, the company operated from its premises in Birkenhead. Eight years ago we recognised a need in the industry to support the modern manufacturing technology and standards. The challenge was finding a property suitable to adapt to a dedicated autobody repair facility, which also allowed for growth and maximum efficiency. Two years later we were fortunate in acquiring 224 Archers Road. The site incorporates two buildings - one being a high-tech, dust free workshop and the other a dedicated administration and customer service area. This allows our clients a relaxed and formal environment which simulates the standards of European and high-end vehicle dealerships.
We employee 28 full time staff in the areas of collision repair, painting, preparation, grooming/detailing, customer service, insurance claims advisors and administration.
The company is jointly owned by Brett Sommerville and Paul Gibson, who both started as apprentices in the industry.
Brett began his career as an apprentice collision repairer with his father in the family business. He then became a shareholder and director. He has also had extensive manufacturer based training on latest repair techniques for the major vehicle brands, including training at the Ferrari factory in Maranello, Italy.
Paul began his career as an apprentice spraypainter in Wellington. Upon moving to Auckland he worked as a tradesman spraypainter before moving to a technical representative role with the leading industry paint supplier, PPG Industries. While in this role he met Brett and they established a great business relationship and friendship. Paul then joined the new company, Precision AutoWerk, as General Manager. From there they worked together to grow the business and cement their reputation as one of the leading autobody repair centres in New Zealand.
Most recently, due to the company's significant growth, they have employed Keith George as General Manager to oversee the day to day running of the company, while they continue to build on business relationships and future growth. Keith brings to Precision AutoWerk a wealth of knowledge in the areas of vehicle technology, training and business development.
